Watercolor Flower Bouquet

Watercolor Flower Bouquet

I am in a Principles of Design for a semester two art class for my senior year at Lincoln Lutheran. In this class, we learn about the elements of art and the principles of basic design. We painted this hand holding a bouquet of flowers as our final project for this unit by using a variety of watercolors and salt mixed in the background with the water. Throughout this unit, we learned the basic principles of how to draw an abstract hand through making different shapes that we see within the drawing itself to help create the realistic form. We used that technique through both our hand and flower painting.  I really enjoyed this project because it was really fun to see the drawing come to life as I started to add the different shapes as the hand finally started to take form within itself.
